Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy Platforms and Availability

PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S — all three launched together on 27 August 2026. It is also on Xbox Game Pass.

Where it is available

The absence of last-generation versions is consistent with the PC requirements — DirectX 12.1 with Shader Model 6.6 and a mandatory SSD are not conditions the older consoles meet.

Which platform to choose

Three factors actually differentiate them here:

Review scores differ by platform. PC sits at 85 on Metacritic, Xbox Series X at 84, PS5 at 78. That seven-point spread is worth knowing if it is a close call.

Game Pass only applies to Xbox. If you subscribe, that is effectively the free option — and at about 11.5 hours for the main story, one month covers it.

PC has a hard requirements gate. Meeting the VRAM requirement is not sufficient; Shader Model 6.6 support is a separate condition that catches older cards.

Steam Deck and handhelds

To be confirmed. We cannot cite a Deck compatibility rating from the store listing, and the CPU requirement — 4 cores and 8 threads — is the figure to watch for any handheld.

Cross-platform and cross-progression

There is none, and there is no reason to expect any. This is a single-player game with no online component. Saves and achievements live on the platform you play on.

That has one practical consequence: if you start on Game Pass and later buy it, stay on the same platform and account to keep your progress.

Language support

Official Steam languages: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain), Arabic, Czech, Korean, Polish, Russian and Simplified Chinese.

Some of these include voice acting; others are subtitles only. Worth checking the store listing for your language specifically if voice matters to you.
