Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy — All 14 Chapters

The game has 14 chapters. Each one awards its own achievement on completion, plus a fifteenth for finishing them all — which is how the list below is confirmed rather than guessed.
The full chapter list
| # | Chapter | Act | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Blood Ties | Setup | Opening. Systems introduced one at a time |
| 2 | Felons | Setup | |
| 3 | Those Before Us | Setup | Frequently mislabelled as Chapter 4 in circulated lists |
| 4 | From Hell It Rose | The labyrinth | Minotaur trial. First real test of the era-shift mechanic |
| 5 | Desolation It Wrought | The labyrinth | |
| 6 | What Lies Beneath | The labyrinth | |
| 7 | Death It Sowed | The labyrinth | |
| 8 | Night Has Come | The labyrinth | |
| 9 | Unpredictable | The labyrinth | Puzzle density peaks across 4–9 |
| 10 | Parallel Paths | Endgame | |
| 11 | Patera | Endgame | |
| 12 | They Were People | Endgame | |
| 13 | Fading Light | Endgame | |
| 14 | As One | Endgame | Final chapter |
Each row is a separate achievement unlock, plus a fifteenth for completing all fourteen. The Notes column is deliberately sparse — we fill a cell when we can confirm what is in that chapter, not to make the table look complete.
The three acts, and why it matters for planning
The 14 chapters do not behave the same way:
| Act | Chapters | What changes |
|---|---|---|
| Setup | 1–3 | Fastest stretch. Mechanics arrive one at a time, little backtracking |
| The labyrinth | 4–9 | Slowest. The era-shift mechanic goes from being demonstrated to being tested. Six of fourteen chapters, but a disproportionate share of the playtime |
| Endgame | 10–14 | Picks back up. Set-piece heavy, fewer places to get stuck |
Budgeting time? Chapters 4–9 are the ones to budget for — see how long to beat for the three completion figures and what moves them. The Chapter 4 trial has its own page: Minotaur puzzle.
Why this list is reliable
Chapter lists circulating shortly after a release are often assembled from playthrough videos, where the uploader's own chapter numbering can be wrong. We have seen exactly that with this game — one widely shared clip labels Chapter 4 with the wrong name.
The achievement list avoids that problem. It comes from the game itself, it is ordered, and each chapter completion is a distinct unlock. Where a video and the achievement list disagree, the achievement list wins.
How long each chapter takes
The main story runs about 11.5 hours, which averages under 50 minutes per chapter. But the chapters are not evenly weighted.
The opening chapters spend time on setup — establishing Sophia, the island, and the systems you will use later. The middle stretch, once the labyrinth mechanics are fully introduced, carries the densest puzzle content and tends to run longer for most players.
Per-chapter timings are still being verified. We would rather leave that column empty than publish numbers we cannot stand behind.
Chapter names as story beats
Read in order, the chapter titles trace the arc rather than describing locations: from Blood Ties through From Hell It Rose, Desolation It Wrought and Death It Sowed, ending at As One.
That naming pattern tells you something about the game's structure — chapters mark narrative movements, not zones. It reinforces what the completion times suggest: this is a linear, chapter-driven game rather than an open one you sweep at your own pace.
What people actually search about chapters
Worth being precise here, because it shapes what this page should be.
In our own Search Console data for the first week, every chapter-related query was about the count or the list — "how many chapters", "chapter list", "total chapters". Not one asked about a specific numbered chapter.
Partly a timing artefact: the game released on 27 August 2026 and most players are still early, so nobody is stuck deep enough to look up Chapter 11 by name. It is also what a linear, chapter-driven game produces — players want to know how much is left, not to look up a chapter by number.
So this page answers the count question properly instead of splitting into fourteen thin pages nobody is looking for. If chapter-specific searches appear later, that is when individual pages earn their place.
Chapter select and replays
If you are going back for missed collectibles or achievements, chapter replay is the practical route. The completionist figure on HowLongToBeat is about 14 hours — only 2.5 hours above the main story — which suggests targeted replays rather than a full second run.
